North East Foodies can indulge their passion as a bumper Sunderland Restaurant Week is about to return. From Saturday, September 17 to 25 September, bars, café, restaurants, and hotels across the city and beyond will be able to enjoy lunch or dinner at a range of top eateries – without breaking the bank. And the good news is that this time round there’s a massive range of options available, with 55 places participating in this autumn event.

What’s on offer

New restaurants, old favourites and some who haven’t been involved for a while have signed up to take part – which means there’s an opportunity to try out a whole host of different cuisines.

From the very best of international streetfood to classic Italian, from American-style burgers to English favourites, from mouth watering Indian offerings to authentic dishes from the Far East will all be on offer throughout the week.

All of the venues are offering menus available at £5, £10 or £15, representing incredible value.

Restaurant Week is organised by Sunderland BID which has seen the event grow year on year and is delighted with the huge surge of interest.

Sharon Appleby, Chief Executive of Sunderland BID says:

“We have around 50 different venues taking part this time round which really represents Sunderland’s fast growing restaurant scene. It’s fantastic to have had such a brilliant response and that so many places have been keen to take part…it’s also great news for the local economy as Restaurant Week really does have a huge impact. We are looking forward to another great event.”

The full list of participating outlets and their menus and offers is available at www.sunderlandbid.co.uk, where the vouchers needed to take advantage of the deals can also be downloaded.
