My story

FINISHED!!!

Here’s the stats:

Distance run: 225.1km (139.9mi)

Time taken: 20h21m17s

Avg speed: 11.1km.h (6.9mph)

Avg HR: 168bpm

Fastest 5k: 24:42

Slowest 5k: 29:13

Calories burned: 15,389

That’s it, 45 consecutive days of running done. 225km covered and I ran all the way 🙂

Enjoyable pub lunch afterwards with running partners Steve Jay and Rich Page (and supporter Bev Jay) followed by a whacking great curry. Magic.

Looking forward to a rest now. Many, many thanks to those who’ve sponsored so far, made it all worthwhile and raised a massive chunk for 2 great charities.

Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity’s behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

I haven’t got time to run a marathon a day, so I’m going to do 5k every day for 45 days. Conveniently, this (225km) is roughly the distance from Newcastle to Nottingham, or if you prefer, Nottingham to Newcastle, a move I made 2 years ago.

This time last year I couldn’t run 500m, let alone 5k, so it should prove something of a challenge to keep this up. There’s also the fact that Nottingham is made entirely of hill to keep this entertaining.

So I’ll start running on Monday 15th October, and finish on Wednesday 28th November. In a comically bad piece of timing, my birthday’s in that date range, which should make a couple of the runs interesting…

Cheers!

Anton

Steve Jay’s Fundraising Page

Fundraising for CARE International UK

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Starting on May 16th 2009 I will be walking the 268 mile path from Edale in Derbyshire to Kirk Yetholm in Scotland over a period of 19 days. I am walking this in memory of Diana Jackson, a friend who died last year, and hope to raise money in her memory. If you possibly can please make a donation to Care International. They are a fantastic charity who make a lasting difference to the lives of some of the world’s poorest people, whilst at the same time maintaining their dignity. A suitable cause by which to remember a fantastic person.

If additionally you would like to join me for some of the walk or simply meet me for a pint on one of the evenings please email me at Steve.Jay@kaplan.co.uk and I will send you my itinerary.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CARE International UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
